An Immersive Exploration on East Coast Batik
IKAT (Immersive Knowledge and Textile) is a multidisciplinary cultural platform that reinterprets Malaysian heritage textiles through new media, design, and immersive experiences.
At its core, IKAT bridges the wisdom of traditional textile artisans with the creativity of contemporary artists, designers, and technologists. Through exhibitions, workshops, digital storytelling, VR experiences, and fashion incubation, IKAT preserves endangered craftsmanship, empowers communities, and engages younger generations in shaping the future of cultural heritage.
From batik to songket, pua kumbu to ikat weave, IKAT celebrates the textures, stories, and symbols that define Malaysia’s diverse identity — making them relevant, accessible, and global.
